“ The TUNGLOK FOOD GROUP CO. is a huge restaurant conglomerate that owns two dozen good restaurants in Singapore, making it one of the largest independent purveyors of Asian/Chinese Cuisine in the Nation. The TungLok Tea House is one of the older of the company's restaurants, offering an eclectic mix of focuses, from Dim Sum to Dinners, and High-Tea to All You Can Eat Buffets. This makes The TungLok Tea House more like seven different restaurants with seven different menus (some AYCE Buffets, others "A La Carte", and still others Set-For Groups, and there's even a special menu for Take-Out and Delivery [yes, they deliver]). Each Menu changes depending on the day and the time, with some of the menus overlapping with others. (NOTE 1: All AYCE Buffets have a 90 minute Time-Limit. ) TungLok Teahouse is also the first Chinese restaurant I've ever seen to use an automated tray delivery system delivered on a rail directly to your table. And it's FAST. Your dishes can arrive within a couple of minutes, literally. “ Tunglok's dimsum branch in Novena square, which features an automated conveyor belt system that delivers your food. Opted for the ala carte lunch so we could try some seasonal items as well, though I think the dimsum buffet is more popular. Food highlights: Charcoal buns with roasted duck, har gao, Soft shell crab and crab fried rice (not on the dimsum menu), Pork ribs, 红油抄手 Overall: Food was good, pretty on par for Singapore dimsum standards with some great dishes and some not as great (肠粉+流沙包). Service was poor, granted the place was really busy for lunch, but I guess the noise and poor service creates an authentic teahouse feel? Sushi conveyor belt was a fun addition :) ”
“ As expected the quality of the food is good for the Tunglok brand. What is interesting is how our food was delivered! We sat at the booths and similar to the sushi conveyor belt restaurants, here the food comes on trays delivered automatically to our tables. Like dumb waiters on a conveyor belt. Kids will love this. ”
“ Good dim sum place. we went for Hi tea from 3-5pm for 30% off all menu items. staffs are friendly. Fried fish skin and Phoenix claw were good. We also ordered crab. The sauce was very good. Overall good. Novena station. and only 5min from my parents house... Will go again.. ”
